My Playstation 3 YLOD!!!

What is YLOD? YLOD is Yellow Light Of Death. When turn PS3 ON, it Green light, then turn to Yellow Light and Beep 3 times then turn Red Light blinking.

My PS3 can’t turn ON at all. It happened while I playing Resident Evil 5 Demo. Not even 15 minutes I turn on my PS3.

Googled and found that hardware failure. Damn Sony, my machine not even 1 year. Some more work in aircond room. Anyway, I have send to a trusted shop. Hope can help me repair it. If not all my DLC (Download Content) will be gone.

   My mate reckons if you take it apart and take out the wire connecting the yellow LED to the motherboard it will work again. Only thing is, you need a soldering iron or something hot like that to melt it off. All of the other LEDs (red and green) are connected to the power supply and the yellow to the motherboard. This is supposed to be what causes it. So if you take out the wire with the yellow LED it should hopefully work. This is only what i have heard so I cannot guarantee anything. But what have you got to lose.

   Oh! you said “my machine not even 1 year” right?
   If it is still under one year old, you will still have your warrenty. So you should be able to take it back to the shop you got it from and get a new one for free!

   The time I sent to the shop already over the warranty period. Even not over warranty also the shop will charge me the shipment fees to Singapore because the machine is from Singapore.
