In 1980, a groundbreaking new product appeared in Japan: the 1/144 Scale RX-78 Gundam – the very first Gundam plastic model (or “GunPla” for short.) The “GunPla” have continue to evolve ever since, introducing new technologies along with every Gundam series. In addition of progressively increasing quality, the ease of assembly and the impact of the resulting product have continued to improve as well. The revolution began in 1995 with the debut of the “Master Grade” series, which set a new standard for the quality of Gundam models, and continued with the birth of the “Perfect Grade” series, which represents the pinnacle of the “GunPla” series. Now there’s a new version of classic 1/144 scale “GunPla” kits: the “High Grade Universal Century” series. And that’s not all! The SD Gundam series of cute renditions of the Gundam characters is being joined by “G-Generation” series. Stay tuned as the “GunPla” continue to change and evolve.
